Creamy Beef Pasta

A comforting dish of tender pasta coated in a luscious, creamy sauce with savory beef and a hint of garlic.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz pasta (fusilli or penne)
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Seasonal veggies (optional, e.g. spinach, bell peppers, or zucchini)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, then add pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add olive oil. Toss in diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing for about 3-4 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet, break it up and season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned and fully cooked, draining excess fat if necessary.
  4. Reduce heat to low and pour in heavy cream, stirring to combine. Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water as needed.
  5. Add drained pasta to the skillet, tossing to combine evenly with the sauce. If using seasonal veggies, toss them in now to warm.
  6. Plate the pasta and garnish with additional Parmesan cheese, cracked pepper, or parsley. Drizzle with olive oil before serving if desired.

Notes

For a baked version, transfer to a baking dish, sprinkle extra cheese on top, and bake until bubbly.
