Garlic Butter Steak With Parmesan Cream Sauce

A delightful fusion of juicy ribeye steak paired with a creamy parmesan sauce, perfect for cozy dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pieces ribeye steaks (about 1-inch thick, 8 oz each)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Start by taking your steaks out of the refrigerator about 30 minutes before cooking. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the skillet: In a large cast-iron skillet (or heavy-bottom pan), melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. When the butter starts to bubble, it’s time to add the steaks.
  3. Sear the steaks: Place the steaks in the hot skillet, making sure not to overcrowd. Leave them undisturbed for about 4-5 minutes. This allows a nice crust to form. Flip them over and add the remaining butter, along with the minced garlic.
  4. Baste and finish cooking: As the garlic sizzles, take a spoon and baste the melted butter over the top of the steaks. Cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or longer if desired.
  5. Remove and rest: Once cooked to your liking, remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a plate for about 5 minutes.
  6. Make the sauce: In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium and pour in the heavy cream. Scrape any delicious bits left from the steaks with a wooden spoon. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and let it bubble gently until thickened, about 3-4 minutes.
  7. Serve: Slice the steaks against the grain and drizzle with the creamy sauce. Garnish with chopped parsley for that finishing touch.

Notes

For a lighter sauce, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream. You can also add sautéed mushrooms to the sauce for extra flavor.
