Lemon Tiramisu

A refreshing twist on the classic Italian dessert, featuring layers of creamy mascarpone, zesty lemon, and airy ladyfingers soaked in lemon syrup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 3 lemons)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream, cold
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1 package (200–250g) ladyfinger cookies (Savoiardi)
  • Extra lemon zest or candied lemon slices, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Make the lemon syrup by combining lemon juice, water, and sugar in a saucepan and stirring until dissolved.
  2. Whip the cream in a mixing bowl until soft peaks form.
  3. Combine mascarpone, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon zest in a separate bowl, blending until smooth.
  4. Fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until incorporated.
  5. Assemble the tiramisu by dipping ladyfingers in lemon syrup and layering them in a dish, followed by the mascarpone mixture.
  6. Chill the assembled tiramisu in the fridge for at least 4 hours.
  7. Serve and enjoy, garnished with lemon zest or candied slices.

Notes

For a tropical twist, substitute some of the lemon juice with mango puree. Using herbal tea instead of water for the syrup adds an intriguing flavor.
