4th of July Cookies

Delicious and festive cookies bursting with the colors of Red, White, and Blue M&Ms, perfect for celebrating Independence Day.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (250 grams)
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened (1.5 sticks)
  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 ¼ cups Red, White, and Blue M&Ms (10-ounce bag)
  • 2 tablespoons Red, White, and Blue Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
  5. Combine the wet and dry ingredients without overmixing.
  6. Fold in the M&Ms and sprinkles until evenly distributed.
  7. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden but centers are soft.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For added fun, press extra M&Ms on top before baking and serve on a festive platter.
