  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the apples by peeling, coring, and slicing them into uniform pieces.
  3. Mix the dry ingredients in a medium bowl: flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  6. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, folding gently until just mixed.
  7. Incorporate the sliced apples into the batter, ensuring even distribution.
  8. Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  9. Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Cool for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack and slice.
