Baked Ziti

A classic Italian-American comfort food, Baked Ziti is perfect for gatherings and warm family dinners, featuring ziti pasta baked with a rich marinara sauce, creamy cheeses, and aromatic garlic.

Ingredients

  • Marinara Sauce
  • Ricotta Cheese
  • Mozzarella Cheese
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Garlic
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Italian Seasoning

Instructions

  1. Cook the ziti in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente, saving a cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. Sauté minced garlic in olive oil for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Combine in a skillet with marinara sauce, stirring and simmering for about 5 minutes.
  4. Mix ricotta cheese with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning in a bowl.
  5. Layer drained ziti into the marinara sauce, gently folding in the ricotta mixture.
  6. Assemble half of the ziti mixture in a greased baking dish, topping with half of the mozzarella and Parmesan, before adding remaining ziti and finishing with more cheese.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden and bubbly, adding a quick broiler finish if desired.
  8. Cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Add sautéed vegetables for more depth or consider using different cheese for variations.
