Amish Apple Fritter Bread

A delightful bread that combines classic fritter textures with juicy, cinnamon-spiced apple goodness.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups diced fresh apples
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently fold them together.
  5. Fold in your diced apples until evenly distributed.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the loaf pan, add a sprinkle of cinnamon and sugar, then pour remaining batter on top.
  7. Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack and dusting with powdered sugar.

Notes

This bread is best enjoyed warm or at room temperature. Serve with butter or ice cream for a delightful treat.
