A delightful dish featuring seasoned shrimp and zesty creamy slaw, all wrapped in warm tortillas—a perfect taste of summer any day of the year.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb wild-caught shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest (from 1 lime)
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice (from that same lime)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ½ bunch cilantro, finely chopped
  • 3 cups finely shredded green cabbage
  • ½ cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice (from 1 lime)
  • Avocado, sliced
  • 8 6-inch tortillas (corn or flour)
  • Extra lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Marinate the shrimp by tossing it with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and chili powder in a large bowl. Let sit for 15 minutes.
  2. Prepare the creamy slaw by mixing Greek yogurt, lime juice, honey, and a pinch of salt in a small bowl. Then, combine the shredded cabbage and chopped cilantro in a large bowl and add the yogurt mixture. Fold together and adjust with salt or lime juice as needed.
  3. Cook the shrimp in a large skillet with olive oil and butter over medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes per side until opaque and cooked through.
  4. Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or oven until pliable.
  5. Assemble the tacos by placing creamy slaw on a warm tortilla, topping it with shrimp and avocado slices, then squeezing fresh lime juice over the top.
