Moist and Tender Cinnamon Apple Bread

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chopped apples (about 2 medium apples)
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease your loaf pan with butter or cooking spray.
  3. Mix dry ingredients: whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  5. Add eggs one at a time, mixing in the vanilla extract.
  6. Combine dry and wet ingredients until just mixed; gently fold in chopped apples and nuts.
  7. Pour batter into the greased loaf pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

This bread freezes well! Slice and store in an airtight container for busy mornings.
