Cracked Garlic Steak Tortellini in Creamhouse Sauce Bliss

A delightful blend of cheese tortellini, juicy steak, and a creamy garlic sauce that brings comfort to your dinner table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 20 oz cheese tortellini
  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye)
  • Salt and black pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Smoked paprika
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 1/4 cups parmesan, shredded or freshly grated
  • Parsley, chopped (optional)
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Cracked black pepper (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Boil the tortellini: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add cheese tortellini, cook according to package instructions until tender, about 3-5 minutes. Drain and set aside, reserving 1 cup of pasta water.
  2. Season the steak: Pat steak dry, season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  3. Sear the steak: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Let rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
  4. Sauté the garlic: In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and melt butter. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  5. Create the cream sauce: Pour in heavy cream and whole milk into the skillet. Stir and bring to a gentle simmer. Mix in parmesan until melted; adjust thickness with reserved pasta water.
  6. Combine it all: Fold in tortellini and sliced steak, tossing until well-coated. Adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired.
  7. Plate it up: Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley and cracked black pepper.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, skip the steak and use sautéed mushrooms or vegetables instead.
