Delightful Cream Puffs

Light and airy cream puffs filled with rich whipped cream, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the water and butter, cooking until the butter melts.
  3. Stir in the flour and salt until a dough forms and pulls away from the sides of the pot.
  4. Allow the dough to cool for about 5 minutes in the pot.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing until fully incorporated after each addition.
  6. Pipe small dollops of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden and puffed up.
  8. Transfer to a wire rack to cool and make a tiny slit in the side of each puff to let steam escape.
  9. In a mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla, then whip until soft peaks form.
  10. Fill each cooled cream puff with the whipped cream using a piping bag.

Notes

For a vegan option, replace eggs with flaxseed meal and consider using coconut cream as filling.
