Pumpkin Brown Butter Dump Cake

A warm and cozy dessert that combines the nutty flavor of brown butter and the earthiness of pumpkin, perfect for fall gatherings.

  • 1 can (15 oz) pumpkin puree
  • ½ cup brown butter
  • 1 box spice cake mix
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped (or walnuts)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat until it turns amber and smells nutty.
  3. Mix pumpkin puree with brown butter in a large bowl and whisk until combined.
  4. Prepare the cake layer by sprinkling spice cake mix evenly over the pumpkin mixture and mix gently.
  5. Add pecans on top of the cake batter.
  6. Melt additional butter and pour over the top of the cake mix layer without mixing it in.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 50 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool for 10 minutes before serving warm, optionally with ice cream.

Notes

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzle with caramel sauce for added enjoyment.
