Halloween Sugar Cookie Bars

Delightfully colorful and festive sugar cookie bars perfect for celebrating Halloween.

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup orange frosting (store-bought or homemade)
  • Sprinkles for decoration (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  3. Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a mixing bowl.
  4. Cream the softened butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  6. Combine the dry and wet ingredients, mixing until just incorporated.
  7. Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  8. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until the edges turn golden.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Frost with orange frosting and decorate with sprinkles.
