Magical Homemade Chocolate Halloween Cookies

Delicious, fudgy cookies filled with vibrant green frosting that brings the spirit of Halloween to life.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup green frosting (witches brew) for filling
  • Sprinkles for decoration (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream the butter and sugars together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, along with vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  4. Prepare the dry ingredients by whisking flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture gradually, mixing on low speed.
  6. Shape the dough into balls about 1 tablespoon in size and place on a baking sheet.
  7. Create wells in the center of each dough ball for the frosting.
  8. Fill the wells with green frosting.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set.
  10. Cool the cookies before transferring them to a cooling rack, and decorate with sprinkles if desired.

Notes

These cookies are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven but can be stored in an airtight container for several days.
