Maple Glazed Apple Blondies

Soft and chewy blondies infused with sweet apples and drizzled with a silky maple glaze, perfect for cozy autumn days.

  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 large apples (chopped finely)
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp butter (for sautéing apples)
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
  • 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
  3. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a medium bowl.
  4. Beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  7. In a small skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter, add the finely chopped apples, and sprinkle with brown sugar. Sauté for about 5 minutes.
  8. Fold the sautéed apples into the batter.
  9. Pour the batter into your prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  10. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  11. Cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  12. Whisk together the powdered sugar, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon for the glaze.
  13. Drizzle the maple glaze over the cooled blondies, cut into squares, and serve.

Notes

These blondies can be frozen for up to 3 months. Store tightly in foil or an airtight container.
