Ingredients
Scale
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
1 cup milk
1/4 cup melted butter
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
Mix the dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
Add the cheese and parsley: Fold in the shredded cheddar and chopped parsley into the flour mixture.
Combine the wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix the milk and melted butter, then stir until combined. Pour this mixture into the flour and cheese mixture and mix gently.
Shape the dough: On a floured surface, gently knead the dough a few times and form it into a ball. Place in a greased baking pan.
Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
Brush with melted butter once out of the oven.
Cool slightly, then transfer to a wire rack or serve warm.
Notes
Great served warm with butter or jam; pairs well with soups and stews.
