Cheesy Pesto Rolls

Warm, fluffy rolls filled with gooey cheese and vibrant basil pesto, perfect for gatherings or as a delightful snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh basil pesto
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 package of refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Unroll your refrigerated pizza dough onto a lightly floured surface and stretch it into a rectangle, about ¼ inch thick.
  3. Spread the basil pesto evenly over the surface of the dough.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan over the pesto.
  5. Season with a touch of salt and pepper.
  6. Starting from one end, tightly roll the dough into a log.
  7. Using a sharp knife, slice the rolled dough into even pieces, about 1-2 inches thick.
  8. Brush the top of each roll with the beaten egg.
  9. Pop the rolls in the preheated oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Once done, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before enjoying.

Notes

For an extra touch, serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping. These rolls can also be frozen for later enjoyment.
