Homemade Cocktail Cherries

Delicious homemade cocktail cherries soaked in bourbon, perfect for garnishing drinks or enjoying on their own.

  • 1 cup fresh cherries
  • 1 cup bourbon
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

Instructions

  1. Prep the cherries by washing them and removing the pits.
  2. Combine 1 cup water, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 cup bourbon, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1/2 teaspoon almond extract, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, and 1/4 teaspoon cloves in a saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Add the cherries to the pot and stir gently to coat in the syrup.
  4. Cool the mixture after simmering for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Jar the cherries and syrup into sterilized glass jars.
  6. Let them marinate in the fridge for at least 48 hours before enjoying.

Notes

These cherries make a fantastic cocktail garnish or a standalone treat. They can last in the fridge for about 2-3 weeks.
