Sweet Nectarine Spice Butter

A warm and comforting nectarines spice butter that captures the essence of summer with a blend of ripe nectarines and a hint of cinnamon.

  • 9 cups ripe nectarines, chopped
  • 4 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Wash your ripe nectarines under cold water.
  2. Slice them in halves, remove the pits, and chop them into smaller chunks.
  3. Combine the chopped nectarines, sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon in a large pot.
  4. Stir well to ensure the sugar coats the fruit evenly.
  5. Let this mixture sit for about 10-15 minutes.
  6. Place the pot over medium heat and bring to a gentle simmer.
  7. Cook for about 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  8. Add the tablespoon of butter and continue to cook for another 5 minutes.
  9. Blend until you reach your desired consistency, either smooth or chunky.
  10. Pour the nectarines spice butter into sterilized jars and seal tightly.

Notes

Store in the fridge for up to two weeks or can properly for one year.
