Indulgent Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake

A decadent chocolate cake paired with creamy peanut butter frosting, topped with luscious ganache and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

  • 1 Box Chocolate Cake Mix
  • 1 Cup Peanut Butter
  • 1 Cup Butter, Softened
  • 4 Cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Milk
  • 1 Cup Chocolate Chips
  • 1 Cup Heavy Cream
  • Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, for Topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. Mix the chocolate cake mix as per package instructions. Add in peanut butter and mix until well combined.
  4. Pour the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  5. Cool the cakes in the pans for about 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
  6. Whip together softened butter and peanut butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
  7. Frost between the layers using the peanut butter frosting.
  8. Make the ganache by heating the heavy cream, pouring it over chocolate chips, and stirring until smooth.
  9. Finish by pouring ganache over the frosted cake and topping with chopped Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
  10. Slice and serve your decadent cake.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. Frosting consistency can be adjusted with additional milk if too thick.
