  • 1 large egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • Flaky sea salt for sprinkling
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream the butter and sugars together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg, yolk, and vanilla; mix well.
  4. Combine the dry ingredients in a separate bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
  7. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (optional).
  8. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are golden.
  10. Let them cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes.

Notes

For an extra touch, sprinkle with flaky sea salt after baking. Enjoy warm with milk or ice cream!
