Maple Glazed Apple Blondies

A delightful autumn dessert featuring soft, buttery blondies packed with tender apple chunks and drizzled with a luscious maple glaze.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 large apples, chopped finely
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp butter (for the apples)
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (for the glaze)
  • 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon (for the glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or line it with parchment paper.
  3. Sauté the apples in a medium skillet with butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Cream together butter, sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time and then add vanilla extract.
  6. Mix the dry ingredients together in a separate bowl.
  7. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until just combined.
  8. Fold in the sautéed apple mixture gently.
  9. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes until edges are golden and a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  11. Cool the blondies and prepare the glaze by combining powdered sugar, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon.
  12. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled blondies before cutting into squares.
