  • 1 pound (450 g) ground pork sausage (mild or spicy)
  • 1 (10 oz / 283 g) can Rotel tomatoes with green chilies, well drained
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups (200 g) shredded cheddar cheese (sharp or mild)
  • 1 ½ cups (180 g) Bisquick baking mix (or similar biscuit mix)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder (optional)
  • Pinch of black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Gather all your ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add the ground pork sausage into the bowl with the cream cheese and mix until well blended.
  4. Next, add the can of well-drained Rotel tomatoes.
  5. Now, sprinkle in the shredded cheddar cheese, Bisquick mix, and any optional seasonings. Combine everything.
  6. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  7. Place the mixture onto the sheet, forming balls about 1 inch in diameter.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.
  10. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

These sausage balls can be made ahead of time and frozen for convenience. Just bake them directly from the freezer with a bit of extra time.
