Southern Peach Cobbler

A classic Southern dessert bursting with juicy peaches and a light, fluffy crust, perfect for summer.

Ingredients

  • Fresh Peaches (6-8 medium-sized)
  • Granulated Sugar (1 cup)
  • All-Purpose Flour (1 cup)
  • Baking Powder (1 tablespoon)
  • Salt (1/2 teaspoon)
  • Milk (1/2 cup)
  • Unsalted Butter (1/2 cup, melted)
  • Ground Cinnamon (1 teaspoon)
  • Vanilla Extract (1 teaspoon)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the peaches: peel and slice them into wedges, toss with 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon, let sit for 15 minutes.
  3. Mix the cobbler batter by combining flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl.
  4. Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and whisk until just combined.
  5. Combine peach mixture and batter: pour peaches into a baking dish and dollop batter on top of peaches.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until top is golden brown and bubbling.
  7. Cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
