Maple Glazed Meatloaf

A comforting and nostalgic dish, Maple Glazed Meatloaf combines savory beef and a sweet maple glaze for a delicious meal perfect for family gatherings.

  • 2 lbs ground beef (80/20)
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: dried thyme, Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the veggies: chop onion and mince garlic. Sauté in olive oil if desired.
  3. Mix the ground beef, sautéed onion and garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, 1/4 cup ketchup, and 1/4 cup maple syrup. Season to taste.
  4. Shape the meatloaf and place in a loaf pan or on a baking sheet.
  5. Prepare the glaze by whisking together 1/2 cup ketchup and 1/3 cup maple syrup.
  6. Bake the meatloaf for about 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  7. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Serve with mashed potatoes and glazed carrots for a complete meal. Feel free to customize with additional spices or ingredients.
