Hot Honey Chicken Mac and Cheese

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1/4 cup hot honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni: Begin by boiling a pot of salted water. Add the elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. Preheat the oven: While the pasta is cooking, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Make the cheese sauce: In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Whisk in the milk and let it heat for a minute.
  4. Add the cheese: Gradually add in the cheddar cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
  5. Combine ingredients: Drain the cooked macaroni and fold it into the cheese sauce. Add the shredded chicken and hot honey, folding gently.
  6. Bake: Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes.
  7. Garnish and serve: Top with chopped green onions and let it sit for about 5 minutes before serving.
