Orange Creamsicle Cake

A moist and fluffy cake bursting with the zesty brightness of fresh oranges, complemented by a sweet orange cream filling.

  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Fresh orange slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Beat together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, then mix in the orange juice and zest.
  5. Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture.
  6. Pour the batter into prepared cake pans and bake for 25–30 minutes.
  7. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
  8. Whip the heavy cream, then mix in powdered sugar and vanilla until fluffy.
  9. Assemble the cake by layering with frosting between the cakes and covering the top and sides.
  10. Garnish with fresh orange slices and enjoy!
